Gold Mountain Celebration

The Chinese American Council of Sacramento's signature event is called the "Gold Mountain Celebration". This fun event takes place each October at the Discovery Museum of History in Old Sacramento. Great food and wine from the area's finest wineries are provided.

The Discovery Museum was choosen as the event location to celebrate the opening of the "Chinese in the Gold Rush" Exhibit in the museum. Many of CACS's board members and volunteers are dressed in historical Chinese clothing to enhance the event. At the event we will be presenting the Frank Fat Founder's award to an individual for their outstanding contributions to CACS and the Sacramento community, and presenting the CACS Hall of Fame nominees with the Hall of Fame award.

A display of Chinese artifacts will be presented for viewing. Attendees are free to roam around the beautiful museum, sample the great food and wine, enjoy the program and entertainment.

This fundraiser supports CACS's Cares for Kids program (student sholarships, school supplies, and holiday food and gifts for underprivliged children) and CACS's many community/cultural activities.

This year the Gold Mountain Celebration will be held October 21, 2006 at the Discovery Museum of History in Old Sacramento.
